Herbie Hancock jammin’ on his Fairlight

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009 | Vision

Herbie Hancock with Quincy Jones jammin’ on his Fairlight, back in the the day when you sequenced with a metal tipped pen on a monochrome monitor. Really highlights the fact the it’s musicians who put the funk into the machines.

Inspirational.

In a world of ‘big’ internet, there’s less and less stuff of interest/value available but this has made me think otherwise.

Not sure about copyright, but the HH part about “…how could it be the machine’s fault?” would fit well at the end of a JGM podcast. That was my first thought when I heard it : )
