The Scene vs. The Tube
Monday, June 1st, 2009 | Vision
Detroit’s The Scene was a TV dance show that ran daily from 1975 to 1987. With Mojo and The Wizard on the radio and The Scene on TV - no wonder Detroit spawned so much great music in that time period. Check the hair, fashion, mic and air guitar.
Meanwhile on the other side of the pond, England’s The Tube was less about the dancers and more about contemporary rock and pop, being instrumental in launching the careers of many artists. In this clip Greg Wilson is the first UK dj to mix live on national TV. Check the hair, fashion, mic and headphones!
